Will Insurance Cover Eyelid Surgery?
Your insurance provider may cover blepharoplasty if the excess skin on your eyelids significantly obstructs your field of vision. Keep in mind that upper lid blepharoplasty is more commonly covered than lower lid surgery. Additionally, if your upper lid or lower lid surgery is for purely cosmetic purposes, it won't be covered.

Recovering From Eyelid Surgery
Here's a general idea of what you can do to streamline your recovery after your surgical treatment in Sidney:
It's normal to experience some inflammation and discomfort during the beginning of recovery. However, you can expect these side effects to subside within two weeks or so. Over-the-counter medications and cold compresses can help you manage your symptoms.
As your eyelids heal, it's important to protect them from UV exposure. Spending too much time in the sun can raise the risk of scarring and prolong the healing process. When outside, we recommend wearing sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen as directed by your doctor.
Dry eyes can be a side effect after surgery. Undergoing blepharoplasty can also increase your symptoms if you already have the condition. However, when performed by a skilled surgeon, blepharoplasty carries a low risk of subsequent dry eye syndrome. If you do experience this side effect, eye drops, either over-the-counter or prescribed by your doctor, can help significantly.
You may want to jump right back into your usual routine after your surgical treatment, but rest and relaxation come first. Many of our blepharoplasty patients take a week off from work during the initial recovery period. Don't overexert yourself with strenuous exercise, excessive screen time, or too many obligations until your doctor clears you to resume your typical schedule.
